ITINERARY

DAY ONE

Nairobi/ Aberdare -Tree Hotel
Depart Nairobi at 8.00 hrs. Drive to Mt. Kenya /Aberdare for a Tree Hotel or lodge which is overlooking a floodlit waterhole frequented by wildlife. Here the animals come to us. You can view the animals from the observation decks, underground bunker or the balcony/windows of your room. A wonderful experience! Aberdare National Park covers just 766km² and has a difficult terrain due to its location in Kenya’s central highlands, to the west of Mount Kenya. The volcanic range of the Aberdare Mountains varies from the high moorland at 3000 meters (9842 feet), to the peaks of Kinangop (3906m/12814 feet) and Ol Donyo Lesatima (3999m/13123 feet). Wildlife to be found here include lion, leopard, elephant, East African wild dog, giant forest hog, bushbuck, mountain reedbuck, waterbuck, Cape buffalo, suni, side-striped jackal, eland, duiker, olive baboon, black and white colobus monkey, and Sykes monkey. Other sightings may include the African golden cat and the bongo, which is an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest. The eland as well as spotted and melanistic serval cats live in the higher moorlands. The Aberdare National Park also has a large eastern black rhinoceros’ population and over 250 species of birds including the endangered Aberdare cisticola, Jackson’s francolin, sparrow hawk, goshawks, African fish eagles, sunbirds and plovers. DAY TWO

Aberdare/Samburu
After breakfast we drive north across the Equator to the edge of the Northern Frontier in the Samburu Game Reserve. Arrival will be in time for lunch followed by afternoon game drive. Overnight at your lodge/camp (BLD)

DAY THREE

Samburu Game Reserve the day is spent game viewing in the Samburu game park. Elephants abound; also available in this park and neighboring Buffalo Springs Game Reserve is lion, leopard, cheetah, reticulated giraffe, buffalo, gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Oryx and crocodile. Overnight at your Lodge/camp (BLD)

DAY FOUR

Samburu/Olpejeta Conservancy After early breakfast, depart for OlPejeta Conservancy via the Equator line to reach your hotel in time for lunch followed by afternoon game drive. “The Olpejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals, including the Big Five (the endangered black and white rhino), leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion), Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, cheetah and chimpanzee. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Olpejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience. DAY FIVE

Olpejeta/Lake Bogoria After breakfast, we depart for the scenic Lake Bogoria to reach there in time for lunch. Lake Bogoria with the [very] hot springs is the home of two million flamingos and other birds today. Lake Bogoria National Reserve has more than 350 birds on its list, but the main attraction is flamingos, which flock in the shallow waters feeding on algae. Lake Bogoria is one of the best places in Kenya to see large flocks of these birds. Plenty of other water birds are easy to spot, and the call of a fish eagle is never far off. Overnight at your lodge (BLD)

DAY SIX

Lake Bogoria/Lake Nakuru After breakfast, we depart at 9.00 am for Lake Nakuru to reach your lodge in time for lunch. Thereafter we have afternoon tour of Lake Nakuru, which is a seasonal home for the Flamingo (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds including a variety of terrestrial birds numbering about 450 species in total. It is also a sanctuary for the black and white rhinos as well as the Rothschild giraffe and harbours lions, warthogs, water bucks, buffaloes, hippo Pythons and many other animals. Overnight at your lodge/camp (BLD)

DAY SEVEN

Lake Nakuru/Masai Mara Depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve after an early breakfast. The reserve is popular for the big five and a northern extension of the Serengeti National Park eco system in Tanzania. Lunch at your lodge followed by an afternoon game drive. Overnight at your lodge/camp (BLD)

DAY EIGHT/NINE

Masai Mara Game Reserve Two days spent game viewing with morning and afternoon game drive to experience the Mara magic! Kenya’s premier reserve is famed for its astounding concentration of wildlife and harboring lions, leopards, cheetah, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, Masai giraffes, hippos, black rhinos, spotted hyenas many species of antelopes. The climax is the annual great wildebeest migration in July, August, September and October of each year. Visit Mara River to see crocodiles and hippos. In addition, there are more than 470 species in the park with almost 60 species being raptors. The birds include vultures, marabou storks, secretary birds, hornbills, crowned cranes, ostriches, long-crested eagles, African pygmy-falcons and the lilac-breasted roller. DAY TEN

After breakfast, we have a morning game drive then we transfer you to Nairobi JKIA in time for your evening/night International home bound flight.
